The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has officially released the application process for students who wish to access its 2025/2026 academic session student loan.
The initiative is part of the Federal Government’s effort to support Nigerian students in public tertiary institutions, ensuring they have access to financial aid for tuition fees and living expenses throughout their studies.
According to NELFUND, the entire registration and verification process will take place online through its official portal — nelf.gov.ng. Applicants are advised to follow the outlined procedures carefully to ensure smooth processing.
Below is a detailed step-by-step guide on how to apply for the NELFUND 2025/2026 student loan:

8. Upload Supporting Documents
Upload a scanned copy of your admission letter. You may also attach other documents such as your student ID card or school fee invoice (optional).
9. Review and Submit
Read through the loan terms carefully, accept the Terms & Conditions and Global Standing Instruction (GSI) Mandate, then click “Submit Application.”
10. Track Your Application Status
Monitor your application progress through the “Loans” section on your dashboard. You will receive notifications once your application is reviewed and approved.
NELFUND advises all applicants to provide accurate information during registration to prevent processing delays.
