She stated this on Tuesday evening while addressing the officials at the maiden camp meeting held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area.

According to her, “No two orientation courses are the same. You have to bring out your best from what you’ve done before. Bring to bear the high level of commitment you exhibited in previous orientation exercises.”

Mrs. Garba further encouraged the officials to always ask relevant questions for clarity, to avoid doubts, and to direct such questions to the appropriate officers handling the schedule.

Speaking further, she implored them to apply emotional intelligence when dealing with prospective Corps Members throughout the camp period.

“Be receptive to them upon their arrival to camp. Show them love, as they have travelled long distances and spent several hours on the road. Treat them as our own children,” she said.

She also cautioned against any action that might tarnish the image of the Scheme. “Do not fraternize with the Corps Members. Do not hesitate to call their attention when you see them going astray or doing the wrong thing,” she reiterated.

The State Coordinator concluded with a call on all officials to be security conscious and avoid discussions that could create fear or insecurity among the Corps Members.

“Encourage them to trust that God will be there to protect them wherever they are,” she added.

Also speaking, the Camp Director, Mr. Sumput James Pupshik, urged the Camp Officials to be diligent and committed to their duties. He also encouraged them to discharge their responsibilities with the seriousness they deserve.

“Be proactive in reporting issues. It’s better to curtail incidents before they happen than to wait until they occur and start looking for a solution,” he said.

The Camp Director further enjoined officials to always respect one another, cooperate, and work together as a team.

On his part, the Camp Commandant, Major O.S. Arotile, encouraged the officials to take security matters seriously and make it everyone’s concern.

In his contribution, the Head of Police, ASP C.Z. Yilgit, advised Camp Officials to refrain from discussing security matters that could instill fear in Corps Members and other Camp participants.
