The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released another batch of thousands of call-up numbers ahead of the 2025 Batch A Stream II Orientation Course scheduled to commence on June 11, 2025.
This fresh release follows the earlier issuance of call-up numbers to some prospective corps members (PCMs) who were shifted from Batch A Stream I due to logistical reasons.
The NYSC had previously announced that limited camp facilities would necessitate shifting some PCMs to the 2025 Batch B, sparking concerns among affected individuals.
However, in a surprising twist on Saturday, many of the PCMs initially told to wait for Batch B have now reported the appearance of call-up numbers on their dashboards.
This unexpected update has brought relief and excitement to many PCMs, as they now prepare to resume camp activities next week.
However, the NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Kuburat Omowumi Bakare has advised Heads of assignments, including the collaborating agencies, to improve relationships and be hospitable towards prospective corps members.
The State Coordinator offered this advise at the NYSC Secretariat during her meeting with Principal Camp Officials and Heads of Collaborating agencies ahead of 2025 Batch ‘A’ (Stream II) orientation course.
Bakare, who appreciated everyone for their professional behaviour and maturity during previous orientation courses said that everyone should uplift the image of the Scheme by being warm and receptive to members of the service corps.
The NYSC Ondo State boss charged the participants at the meeting to see the forthcoming orientation course as the one they would give their overall best in terms of service delivery.
“Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, it is a fact that we have attended several orientation courses at one time or the other but we need to know that no two orientation courses are the same as I want to implore you to give your best, as usual, so that our ratings will not diminish”.
The Coordinator reeled out what is expected of everyone, especially the collaborating agencies, adding that the Memorandum of Understanding which NYSC undertook with various organisations should guide the conduct of officers and men that would be engaged for camp assignment.
She implored the collaborating agencies to maintain inter-agency relationship with one another and continue to build on the synergy that has been existing between NYSC and their various agencies.
Bakare, hammered on the security of prospective corps members and the entire camp community, stressing that they should do everything humanly possible to ensure that no corps member is under any security threat whatsoever.
The Camp Director designate, Mr. Thaddeus Idalu, enjoined everyone to maintain a high level of discipline when relating with corps members but added that they should always act as loco parentis to them.
Idalu appealed for the cooperation of everyone and promised that he would run an open door policy and ensured that all matter that needed the attention of the State Coordinator would be promptly tabled before her.
