As the 2024 Batch B Stream One Corps Members prepare to Pass-Out on June 3, 2025, the NYSC Ogun State Secretariat has intensified efforts to prepare them for life beyond service through a series of activities under the Job Awareness and Creation (JAC) Week.
Held simultaneously across all four zonal offices in Ogun State, the JAC Week event was designed to empower Corps Members with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate the post-service terrain, with a strong focus on entrepreneurship, job readiness, and career advancement.
Flagged off at the Amazing Grace Event Centre in Abeokuta, the programme featured a keynote lecture by Mr. Bamidele Adeleye of Alfa Consulting, who delivered practical insights on personal and professional development.
The event was officially opened on behalf of the State Coordinator, Mrs. Olayinka Diana Nasamu, by the Head of the NYSC SAED Branch, Mrs. Oni-Joseph Oluranti.
Addressing participants, Mrs. Nasamu highlighted the dwindling availability of traditional employment opportunities and stressed the importance of skill acquisition and entrepreneurship for today’s youth. “Proactive career planning is no longer optional—it is essential,” she noted.
She also introduced Worknation, a tech-driven platform powered by artificial intelligence under the Outsource to Nigeria Initiative (OTNI), facilitated by the Office of the Vice President.
By registering on www.worknation.africa, Corps Members can access career-matching assessments and be connected to employers and relevant training programs.
“Take advantage of platforms like Worknation and the NYSC SAED programme to position yourselves for success,” she urged.
“The choices you make now will determine how well you transition into the next phase of life.”
JAC Week, a flagship initiative under the NYSC’s national agenda, reflects the commitment of the Scheme’s leadership under Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu to produce self-reliant, employable, and purpose-driven young Nigerians.

As the countdown to the end of service begins, the Job Awareness Creation Week initiative stands as a timely intervention to ensure that Corps Members are not only celebrated at the end of their service year but are also equipped to thrive beyond it.
