JAMB – A high-performing JAMB candidate, Michael Inemesit Uduak, has drawn public attention after scoring an impressive 311 in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) but declined an admission offer from Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY).
According to her 2024 UTME result slip, shared by Igbere TV, Uduak scored 73 in Use of English, 87 in Physics, 77 in Biology, and 74 in Chemistry — totaling 311.
Despite the strong result, she rejected admission to study Building Technology at OSPOLY, reportedly holding out hope for a more competitive program.
Sources indicate that Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) did not offer her admission to study Medicine and Surgery, her preferred course.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Uduak’s performance in the 2025 UTME dropped significantly.
She scored a total of 148, with subject breakdowns as follows: 35 in English, 41 in Physics, 35 in Biology, and 37 in Chemistry.
The story, shared widely by Igbere TV, has sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing mixed feelings about her decision to reject the earlier offer.
While some sympathized with her aspirations, others offered advice on making practical choices regarding tertiary education.
Igbere Tv wrote: “”Last 2 years she scored 281 in JAMB, last year she scored 311 in JAMB and this year she is scoring 148 in JAMB.” What’s Your Advice For Her??”
